About Dr. Radpour
Board-Certified Ob/Gyn physician and inventor of PessaryAssistant™
The Problem
Over the years, many of Dr. Radpour’s patients who used pessaries reported difficulty with placement and removal—particularly those with limited hand strength, dexterity, or arthritis.
The Solution
Motivated to find a solution, Dr. Radpour conceived and hand-sketched what would become the PessaryAssistant™, a simple, effective aid designed to make pessary handling easier.
Development & Design
The concept was refined into a practical design, resulting in the first patented pessary placement and retrieval aid intended to support both patients and clinicians.
The latest version is manufactured from medical-grade polypropylene (PP)—a slightly softer and more flexible material than earlier models—providing improved durability, gentle flexibility, and dependable control.
The updated design allows users to grasp and release pessaries of various shapes and sizes, including ring pessaries with or without support, incontinence pessaries, and knob pessaries. It is also shaped to assist in retrieving the horn of a Gellhorn pessary.
Designed to improve ease of use for both patients and clinicians.
